OFBF leader remembered

Special election to be held

Long time Farm Bureau leader John W. Miller of Dover passed away in mid-August of complications following heart transplant surgery. Miller was serving as District 13 Trustee representing OFBF members in Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson and Tuscarawas counties.

Miller was active in the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau for 36 years and held numerous leadership positions. He had been a state trustee for 14 years. He and his wife, Sue, operated a corn, soybean and dairy farm. Miller is survived by his wife and three adult children.

"We’ll all miss John and the guidance he brought to Farm Bureau," said Jack Fisher, OFBF executive vice president.

Voting delegates and county boards of the four District 13 counties have been informed of a special election to be held on October 14 to fill the remainder of Miller’s term. The newly elected trustee will serve until the state annual meeting in December 2004.
