Profiles Staff Scott Williams joined Ohio Farm Bureau as director of state legislative affairs in 1999. He represents Farm Bureau members in the organization’s work with the Ohio General Assembly and with the Taft administration. Williams works on many issues, including taxes, property rights and wildlife. "I grew up on a farm, and with my education, it’s nice to join farming and policy in what I do on a day-to-day basis," Williams said. "Lobbying on behalf of the members is the most important part of my job." Prior to coming to OFBF, Williams worked as the director of government relations for the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association. He also has served as a legislative aide to state Sen. Doug White, chairman of the Senate Ag Committee. Williams previously performed similar duties for state Rep. Robert Corbin. Additionally, Williams has held staff positions on a number of state political campaigns. Williams received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from Ohio University. Williams was recently appointed to the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Financing Student Success. Scott and his wife, Tracey, have two daughters, Sophia, 2 1/2, and Campbell, 4 months.
