Renew your membership now Members will be receiving their renewal notices the first week of November, according to Ohio Farm Bureau Director of Membership Activities Mike Fearon. "I encourage our members to renew early," Fearon said. "There are several money-saving benefits tied into paid membership dues." Members save with deviated rates on Nationwide insurance, and members who belong to the Workers' Compensation Group Rating program receive substantial savings on premiums. "Any lapse in membership status could result in losing those rates," he said. Another benefit tied into early renewal relates to the Accidental Death and Specific Loss policy each member receives with paid dues. Fearon said members who renew before Dec. 31 keep the value of the policy at $5,000. Those who renew after Dec. 31 see the value of that policy drop to $1,000. Fearon noted one other change this year – Social Security numbers are no longer being used for membership identification. Instead, members are assigned a unique membership number. "We are concerned about keeping members' identities secure, so we took measures with our software to discontinue use of Social Security numbers," Fearon said. | |
