Safety was the name of the game at the Monroe Township Firemen’s Festival in Clermont County. The Clermont County Farm Bureau had a booth featuring fire extinguishers, safety brochures and an activity kit. The group sold fire extinguishers at its booth for $10, but charged Farm Bureau members half price. The safety brochures focused on lawn mowers and PTO and tractor safety. The project manager for the event was Linda McKinley, and Richard and Virginia Meyer served as volunteers. "This event brings a lot of people out, and it’s nice that we can teach them about safety," McKinley said. "Selling fire extinguishers to our members for half price works toward our goal of getting more extinguishers into homes in our county. It’s also a nice way for us to give them our safety brochures." | |
