Profiles Volunteer Wayne Herron, 60, has given many years to Farm Bureau. He served several terms on the Columbiana County Farm Bureau board, on the membership, government affairs and policy development committees, and as a delegate to the OFBF annual meeting. He and his wife, Betty, are members of the Cultivators Advisory Council. "The representation of our members is vital through strong lobbyists at the local, state and national level," Herron said. "The member benefits are numerous – some being the safety seminars and the efforts to bring the worker’s comp premiums to more reasonable costs through group rating." Herron farms 600 acres and raises Jersey dairy cattle, soybeans, corn and hay and is a member of the Tri-County Milk Producers. He was recently elected to his fifth term as a Butler Township trustee. He and Betty have three children and eight grandchildren and reside in Salem. They attend United Methodist Church in Winona. | |
