Health Fair new at Hospitality Corner

Nationwide Health Plans sponsored the first ever Health Fair at the Ohio Farm Bureau annual meeting. Members and guests were able to receive free massages and blood pressure screenings and reduced-cost flu shots and bone density analyses. Associations participating in the fair were Nationwide Health Plans Medical Management, Health Screen of Ohio, American Red Cross, Comprehensive Health Center, Columbus Polarity, Medco Health and American Heart Association. The American Cancer Association, American Diabetes Association, Arthritis Foundation, American Association of Dermatology, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, Ohio Department of Health and AAA Ohio made literature available for distribution. Due to the positive member response to the event, plans are being made to conduct the fair at the 2004 annual meeting in Columbus.

The Health Fair was held in conjunction with the Hospitality Corner, the annual trade show providing a forum for interaction between Ohio Farm Bureau members and the organization's benefit providers and other associations to showcase their businesses. Members were able to pick up literature about the various organizations and speak with representatives. Participants were Nationwide Insurance, OFBF Promotion and Education Program, Ohio Division of Wildlife, ABN Radio, Heartland Agdeavor, Mid-American Ag & Hort Services, American Dairy Association/Dairy Council Mid-East, Mahoning County Farm Bureau, GatesMcDonald, Gates McDonald Health Plus, Heartland Prescription Services, Nationwide Agribusiness, OFBF Agricultural Ecology Program, OFBF Self-Help Energy Programs, Ohio Association of Second Harvest Food Banks, Farm to Markets.com, Ohio Forestry Association, Ohio Poultry Association, Ohio Soybean Council, OSU Extension/OARDC, Teater-Gebhardt/Hull & Associates, Universal Rx, USDA Farm Service Agency, World Travel BTI and WRFD.
