Vance named vice president for corporate affairs

Bob Vance has accepted the position of vice president for corporate affairs at Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). Vance has been director of Ohio sales for Nationwide Health Plans since 1999. Previously he was an OFBF organization director for Brown, Clermont, Montgomery and Warren counties, director of membership activities and director of member services before joining Nationwide in 1984. At Nationwide, he held various positions including agent and sales manager.

He was raised on a dairy farm in Ashtabula County and received a bachelor’s degree from Capital University in Columbus. He and his wife, Rosi, are parents of two grown children and have two grandchildren. He has been active in the United Way and VFW and is a member of Fairfield County Farm Bureau.

"I believe that one's success is attributed to relationships developed with others, respect for people and maintaining certain consistent values. Personally, I attribute much of my success to my early work years as an organization director, which were all about developing relationships, respecting people and maintaining certain values. This really set the foundation for how I wanted to work and represent myself," Vance said.

"I owe much of my success to the Farm Bureau members around Ohio who I have had the benefit of working with. I believe all members have an opportunity to participate in their county organization and make an immediate impact on issues that are important to them. This is powerful. I believe that there is no other organization in Ohio that has the ‘blue chip,’ high level reputation that OFBF has. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, building relationships and contributing to a strong organization for the benefit of agriculture," he said.

Vance will assume his new duties April 26.
