Growing stronger togetherOhio Farm Bureau and Nationwide celebrated their rich heritage with a downtown Columbus lunchtime event "Growing Our Relationship." More than 77 years ago, Ohio Farm Bureau founded what is now Nationwide Insurance. The event gave Nationwide employees the opportunity to learn more about Farm Bureau programs and benefits, as well as plant a flower (as pictured above), take in horticulture displays and planting demonstrations, learn about getting involved in 4-H and much more. Visitors also could purchase Naturally Resourceful T-shirts and OFBF’s literature award winner, "Lily’s Garden." "We want to hold up the heritage of Nationwide and the value of the Farm Bureau/Nationwide relationship," said Emily Kahrs, OFBF’s metropolitan program coordinator. "We also want to give Nationwide employees the opportunity to become members and review the membership benefits." Heritage Awareness Leadership Team, comprised of OFBF and Nationwide employees, meets throughout the year to plan this event and other heritage-related activities. | |
