Wayne County Farm Bureau won the Quality Growth Award for its community involvement from the Wayne Economic Development Corporation. The county Farm Bureau was judged on its leadership development programs and how many community leaders are involved in Farm Bureau. Organization Director for Ashland, Medina and Wayne counties John Fitzpatrick said, "Many of our community leaders have come up the ranks of Farm Bureau. Our state senator and representative are members and there’s not a county board or commission without at least one Wayne County Farm Bureau member involved."
