With more volunteers getting involved in the organization, the annual Leadership Conference has outgrown its former location. This year’s conference, Aug. 19 and 20, will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Program chairmen will receive a blend of program-specific training as well as sessions to develop their personal leadership skills.

"The committee has worked very hard to make this an attractive conference for both new and returning chairmen," said David Rule, OFBF director of technology and staff development. New chairmen will have training to help them understand their role as chairmen and how to work within the county Farm Bureau structure. The morning of Aug. 20, all chairmen will be allowed to choose from four different break-out sessions, ranging from debunking agricultural literacy myths to understanding why farmers’ votes matter. As in past years, the Young Farmer Discussion Meet will take place evening of Aug. 19 after dinner.

The theme for this year’s conference is "The Power of One – One Purpose, One Vision, One Message." WHO will be the keynote speaker after lunch on Friday. ADD BIO INFO HERE. (Committee hasn’t confirmed the speaker, yet.)

How to register
Chairmen should receive an invitation to the conference from their organization directors (ODs). Please notify your organization director if you would like to attend and if you have a roommate preference. Dress for the conference is business casual; no jeans please. Chairmen are encouraged not to bring children to the conference. Organization directors will provide a map, agenda and conference information to registered chairmen.
