New Review manager named

With a straw hat and a handshake, Chuck Gamble took over management of the Farm Science Review starting July 1 from 38-year Review veteran Craig Fendrick. Gamble had been Review assistant for nine years.

At a recent FSR Program and Policy Committee meeting, Fendrick passed the same hat to his successor that his predecessor, Dale Friday, had passed to him some 23 years ago.

Gamble was chosen to lead the Farm Science Review and the Molly Caren Agricultural Center following a national search, said Steve Baertsche, assistant director of agriculture and natural resources for OSU Extension and chair of the search committee. "We were very pleased with the quality of the applicants in this competitive search process. Chuck not only brings a wealth of experience, but also a passion for the Review, considered the best educational agricultural farm and equipment exhibition in the country."

The Farm Science Review ranks among the top farm shows nationally, attracting 140,000 visitors annually to its three-day event at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London in Madison County. It is sponsored by Ohio State University's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, Ohio State University Extension and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The 2004 Review takes place Sept. 21 to 23.
