Some would say that getting to meet the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture in person is a once in a lifetime opportunity. For members in Van Wert County, it has become a regular event. In August, the Secretary was the featured speaker at Farm Focus. In October, her travels brought her back to Ohio. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman met with area farmers at the Ohio City branch of Mercer Landmark to discuss trade, the energy bill, technological advancements and the future of agriculture. She then discussed specific issues one-on–one with those in attendance. | |
