Volunteer
Mary Ann Rogers
Lake County

Mary Ann Rogers estimates she has signed at least 100 members as a Farm Bureau volunteer during annual membership campaigns. She is serving again this year as Lake County membership chairman.

She and her husband, Don, own 60 acres where they raise cattle, sheep and hay. Mary Ann also raises produce, perennials, vegetables and bedding plants. She and Don sell their greenhouse products at local farm markets and flea markets.

They are the parents of four children and have one grandchild. Their children were active in 4-H. She and her husband are members of the American and Ohio Murray Grey Associations, the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association and the local Soil and Water Conservation District, as well as the Ashtabula Cattlemen’s Association.

In addition to the membership campaign, she has been a member of the county board of trustees. She and her husband have been Farm Bureau members for nearly 30 years.

"Farm Bureau has a lot of nice benefits," she said. She also noted Farm Bureau’s lobbying efforts on the state and national level and the legal advice given to members on topics such as Current Agricultural Use Valuation and oil and gas leasing.
