Membership campaign in full swingMany county Farm Bureaus have launched their membership campaigns, or will be this month. According to OFBF Director of Membership Mike Fearon, each county has a goal of attracting 40 membership volunteers to the campaign kickoff, or at least 10 percent of its active membership total. If that goal is met, each member of the campaign committee will receive a Farm Bureau fleece pullover. "Our overall goal is for every county to achieve this at their kickoffs. Last year we had very high attendance, and we would love to continue that. Kickoff is the most important meeting of the campaign," he said. Strong volunteer participation and help from Nationwide agents are needed to have membership gain. Ohio Farm Bureau has achieved a gain in membership for 37 consecutive years, building a strong voice for members in the legislature and with consumers. Fearon said he would like the campaigns to be wrapped up by Feb. 14, which is the statewide Benchmark Date. To help attain membership gain, a statewide membership workday has been scheduled for Feb. 2. Volunteers and members of the OFBF staff will work together on a push to sign members. Fearon said last year, 200 to 300 members were signed. If you have not already been asked to participate in the membership campaign, and you would like to, contact your county Farm Bureau office. | |
