Santa Claus was on hand for Morgan County Farm Bureau’s Christmas Party on Dec. 9. The party not only helped promote Farm Bureau and attract potential members, but it helped the community by having attendees contribute nonperishable food or toys for a needy family. The event was held at the Riecker building in McConnelsville, and various county Farm Bureau committees such as membership, youth and ecology had displays that explained what they do throughout the year. Every family that brought a nonperishable food or toy was entered in a drawing to win a free 2005 membership. During the party, children were given free pictures of themselves with Santa Claus, who was played by Farm Bureau board member Eddie Lindimore. "It was nice. We had cookies and punch, and we explained to people who aren’t in Farm Bureau about membership. It was fun," said Angela Drake, co-chair of the event. | |
