Fisher joins Children's Hunger Alliance BoardOFBF Executive Vice President Jack Fisher will sit on the board of directors of the Children's Hunger Alliance (CHA) for 2005. He is one of seven new board members. CHA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the well-being of Ohio's children and families by meeting immediate child nutrition needs and advocating for the elimination of hunger through education. Fisher said, "The reason I like our involvement (with Children’s Hunger Alliance) is their mission and their work … Farmers want to feed the world. Children’s Hunger Alliance emphasizes making sure all children are fed on a daily basis." He also shared that a relationship with CHA is an opportunity to expand OFBF’s Ag in the Classroom efforts. Through CHA’s programs, such as after-school meals or breakfasts, he believes there’s an opportunity to provide information about the production of agriculture and farm and family life. In accepting a role on the board, Fisher also expressed a personal passion that he would like to see all hunger eliminated. Other board members are Richard Barger, president and chief operating officer for Karlsberger Companies; Anne Devoe, realtor, Coldwell Banker King Thompson; Bonnie Milenthal, partner, The Milenthal Group; Bridgette C. Roman, attorney, Cooper Tire & Rubber; Jacqueline Jones Royster, professor of English, Ohio State University, and Marie Waugh, senior vice president, Chase Home Finance Human Resources.
