New membership incentives announced

County volunteers who continue to pursue membership goals now have a new incentive to earn, and two previous contest deadlines have been extended.

According to Mike Fearon, OFBF director of membership activities, beginning March 15 through April 15, members who sign three members (with at least one being new) can earn a $25 Visa gift card. For signing five members (with at least one being new), volunteers can earn a $50 Visa gift card. For complete participation details, contact your county Farm Bureau office.

Fearon also said the contest deadline has been extended to March 31 for members to earn the five-member award, which is an emergency road kit. Also, membership campaign county chairmen still have time to qualify for the membership incentive trip if gain or farmer gain is achieved by March 15. A second seat is earned if both gain and farmer gain are achieved by March 22. Membership chairmen plus the top three signers from each region will travel to Lexington, Ky. April 1 to 3.

Several county chairmen received a jacket when their counties achieved gain by March 1: Adams, Ashtabula, Delaware, Gallia, Harrison, Hocking, Jackson/Vinton, Jefferson, Knox, Licking, Marion, Morgan, Morrow, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Warren and Wayne.

In February, Ohio Farm Bureau coordinated a statewide Volunteer Workday. Just over 400 volunteers worked together to sign 395 members.

"We are all pulling together now to reach our goal of 38 consecutive years of membership gain," Fearon said.
