Profiles Staff Melissa Jacobs began her Farm Bureau career as an organization director in Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson and Tuscarawas counties in 1996. She also served Champaign, Clark and Madison counties before leaving to attend graduate school at Ohio State University. In 2001, she rejoined the staff as metro program specialist, then served as director of safety and field staff development before being named Pioneer Region supervisor in 2003. As supervisor, she oversees the activities of nine organization directors serving members in 29 eastern Ohio counties. Jacobs grew up on a livestock farm in Delaware County. She showed steers, hogs and lambs and was active in 4-H and FFA. She is a past state FFA officer and holds the American FFA Degree. She received her bachelor’s degree in business and organizational communication from Otterbein College and her master’s degree in agricultural communications from Ohio State. She resides in Ashland with her husband, John, and their children Brady and Reily, both age 2 1/2. She is a member of the Ohio FFA Alumni Association.
