Pioneer Region - Coshocton, Holmes, Knox and Licking County Farm Bureaus
Luck was on the side of a Coshocton resident who won a Polaris Ranger as part of a four-county Farm Bureau membership promotion. Marlene Griffith was thrilled to win the vehicle, which has a retail value of $6,299, said Susan Brinker, Farm Bureau organization director of Coshocton, Holmes, Knox and Licking counties. To qualify for the drawing, people had to join Farm Bureau or renew their membership by Feb. 14. The contest was sponsored by Coshocton, Holmes, Knox and Licking counties. The four counties went in together on purchasing the vehicle and received a substantial discount from Valley ATM Polaris of Coshocton. More than 5,000 people were eligible for the prize, and Griffith’s name was drawn during the four counties’ recognition dinner March 12. Brinker said the promotion idea started as a lawn mower giveaway and grew. "We strongly think this helped our membership," she said. "People were excited about it. We had people call the office to make sure they were included in the drawing. There were flyers in the towns, feed shops, coffee shops. It generated a lot of excitement."
