Our Ohio: Telling agriculture's storyPublished on 07/11/2005![]() Editors Note: Each issue, we would like to keep members informed on the status of the Our Ohio communications that target consumers. We are introducing "Our Ohio: Out and About" this issue. The Our Ohio television crew has been busy since early spring filming segments for the upcoming show, which will be launched in October. Organization directors have been key in helping find members to be interviewed for various topics such as spring planting (Darke County), Ohio-Erie Canal (Pike County), quilt barns (Monroe County), subscription farming (Morrow County), hay baling (Delaware County), Ohios salad bowl (Huron County) and Mid-States Wool Growers (Fairfield County.) Shooting will continue through the summer and fall in several other counties. The OurOhio.org Web site was launched May 31. Content on the front page is being updated three times per week, and additional content is being added to the other sections of the Web site. Currently, tracking software indicates more than 1,300 visitors to the site in its first three weeks. It is anticipated the launch of the television show will attract even more visitors to the site. This summer the site will be promoted in advertisements in Ohio and Cleveland magazines as well as at events such as Vintage Ohio and the Ohio State Fair. To celebrate the new brand, a Launch Party is being held in conjunction with Leadership Conference Aug. 16. OFBF and the Nationwide Heritage Team are planning the event that will take place at Battelle Park in front of Nationwide Arena in Columbus. Members at Leadership Conference are invited to attend the event. Commodity groups are being invited to share their food products. The event is open to Nationwide employees and others who work downtown. | |
