Director of political education announced

Tracee Swank has accepted the position of OFBF director of political education, according to OFBF Vice President of Government Affairs Keith Stimpert. She joined the OFBF staff in December 2003 as organization director for Lucas, Ottawa and Wood counties.

Prior to joining the staff, she was an active volunteer with Lucas County Farm Bureau, serving as county president and government affairs chairman. She also served on the state Policy Development Committee.

In her new role, she will work with members to increase their political and organizational involvement through a variety of programs including seminars, communications and grassroots program development.

She also will manage Farm Bureau’s participation in candidate evaluation and the campaign management seminar, both county and state policy development processes and Farm Bureau’s work in building coalitions with outside organizations and businesses.

Swank grew up on a small farm in Preble County. She was active in 4-H, FFA and Farm Bureau Youth. She is a lifetime member of the Anthony Wayne FFA alumni association and a volunteer with Lucas County Junior Achievement and the Lucas County Junior Fair. She has a bachelor’s degree from University of Toledo and will complete a master’s degree in public administration in spring 2006 also from the university. Previously, she held several positions with The Andersons as a retail store assistant manager, grain buyer and retail training and development specialist.
