Ohio State University Extension sheep specialist Roger High also serves as executive director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association (OSIA) and the Ohio Lamb and Wool Board. He also works with OFBF’s livestock commodity committees.

With a 140,000-head flock valued at $20 million, Ohio is the leading sheep state east of the Mississippi River and the 13th nationwide. The number of sheep producers in Ohio, 3,500, ranks third nationally. "I enjoy working with people in agriculture and the sheep industry," he said.

High has a bachelor's degree in animal sciences and agricultural education and a master's degree in agricultural education, both from Ohio State. He has received the Outstanding Extension Employee Award and the Outstanding Service to Students Award from Ohio State's College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

He grew up on a sheep and grain farm in Morrow County and currently lives on a sheep farm in Union County. He and his wife, Holly, and son Adam attend Marysville First United Methodist Church.
