After Ted Griffith graduated from Ohio State University in 1991, he came home to join the family business, Powell Seeds, Inc. with his father and great uncle. His father had been on the Hardin County Farm Bureau board of trustees, and Griffith said it was a natural fit for him to join on his own. The Griffiths raise hybrid seed corn, seed beans, seed wheat and seed oats. Ted has served as Hardin County president and membership chairman. He served on the OFBF Policy Development committee and was a regional finalist in the 2003 Outstanding Young Farmer contest. He is a member of the OSU Lima Board of Trustees and a former supervisor on the Hardin County Soil and Water Conservation District board. "The main reason I am a member is the voice it (Farm Bureau) provides the farmer. In todays world, no one is going to look out for you, but you. I view that as the big reason I belong," he said. | |
