Juanita Forshey
Jackson/Vinton County

Juanita Forshey met her husband Jake through participation in various Farm Bureau youth activities. They’ve been married and Farm Bureau members for 53 years. Juanita has been a board member off and on since 1987. She served as county president, has been a membership campaign volunteer for 18 years and currently serves as promotion and education chairman. She also is active with AITC, education programs with SWCD and was a 4-H advisor for 14 years. She and Jake are members of the Franklin Valley advisory council #1.

She was raised on a farm, and she and her husband currently own a 200-acre feeder calf operation. They are parents of four children, have 12 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Juanita is a retired fifth grade teacher. She and Jake are members of Franklin Valley United Methodist Church where she teaches an adult Sunday School class.

"You can’t find more friendly people to be with and to help," Forshey said of Farm Bureau.
