There is still time to compete in this year’s Outstanding Young Farmer and Excellence in Agriculture contests. Applications are available from county Farm Bureau offices and are due Oct. 7 to Ohio Farm Bureau. All state winners will be announced at the OFBF annual meeting Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 in Columbus and will advance to the AFBF competition in Nashville Jan. 8 to 11. State prizes include cash awards and gift certificates listed below.

Outstanding Young Farmer – $500 courtesy Dodge; $1,000 gift certificate to Grainger courtesy of Farm Credit Services of America; one year or 400 hours use of a Kubota M-Series Tractor provided by Kubota, and expense-paid trip to the AFBF annual meeting provided by OFBF.

Excellence in Agriculture – $500 courtesy Dodge; $1,000 technology package and expense-paid trip to the AFBF annual meeting provided by OFBF.
