Young farmer contest informationThere is still time to compete in this years Outstanding Young Farmer and Excellence in Agriculture contests. Applications are available from county Farm Bureau offices and are due Oct. 7 to Ohio Farm Bureau. All state winners will be announced at the OFBF annual meeting Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 in Columbus and will advance to the AFBF competition in Nashville Jan. 8 to 11. State prizes include cash awards and gift certificates listed below. Outstanding Young Farmer $500 courtesy Dodge; $1,000 gift certificate to Grainger courtesy of Farm Credit Services of America; one year or 400 hours use of a Kubota M-Series Tractor provided by Kubota, and expense-paid trip to the AFBF annual meeting provided by OFBF. Excellence in Agriculture $500 courtesy Dodge; $1,000 technology package and expense-paid trip to the AFBF annual meeting provided by OFBF.
