The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors – Diane Radigan, program director with Children’s Hunger Alliance, Columbus; Todd Beckwith, vice president, commercial agribusiness with CoBank, Louisville, Ky., and Norman Fausey, Agricultural Drainage Research Unit – USDA and adjunct professor, Ohio State University.

Radigan has worked extensively with Alliance leadership and volunteers in developing and implementing education and advocacy programs. Along with other foundation board responsibilities, she will advise on agricultural education and community outreach initiatives.

Beckwith has been with CoBank and affiliated business operations for more than 20 years. CoBank's customers are local, regional and national agribusinesses; rural communications, energy and water systems; Farm Credit associations, and other businesses serving rural communities. Along with other assignments, Beckwith will advise foundation leaders on agribusiness, economic research and community development projects.

Fausey has been a key researcher in a variety of projects helping farmers, planners and community leaders create and implement systematic drainage systems that help maintain and/or improve water quality. Along with other board responsibilities, he will advise on agricultural ecology and environmental research projects.

"These new board members bring valuable experiences of their own and diversity to a board that is proactive. They will help the foundation meet its goals to fund worthy projects and assist those interested in leaving a legacy through the foundation," said Bob Vance, OFBF vice president of corporate affairs. Founded in 1985, the foundation strives for measurable community improvement through support of projects and initiatives focusing on educational, environmental and economic issues impacting agriculture. Moreover, foundation leadership supports action programs building lasting relationships between rural, suburban and urban communities.
