Ross County woman rewarded for helping catch thief

Teresa Knisley of Greenfield and her daughter were headed to Lancaster for a doctor's visit last year when they noticed something was wrong at Craig Knisley's home. A strange van was backed up to his trailer, and she said Craig was good at letting people know if he had visitors.

They pulled into the driveway and saw a man come out of the trailer. After he denied being inside the trailer, he took off and Teresa followed him to his residence. She then called the Ross County sheriff's office, and the man was later convicted of burglary.

For her action, Teresa received $1,500 on Aug. 23 as part of Ohio Farm Bureau’s $1,500 Reward Property Protection Program. It rewards those who provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of people who commit felonies against Farm Bureau members.

Although the award can be paid to anyone, the property owner must be a Farm Bureau member and prominently display the $1,500 reward sign. In addition to the $1,500 reward sign, Farm Bureau also provides stickers that may be placed on windows, vehicles and machinery. Contact your county Farm Bureau to obtain these items.
