Tracee Swank
Director of Political Education

Tracee Swank joined the OFBF staff in December 2003 as organization director for Lucas, Ottawa and Wood counties. She accepted her current position this year. As director of political education, she works with members to increase their political and organizational involvement through a variety of programs including seminars, communications and grassroots program development. She also manages Farm Bureau’s participation in candidate evaluation and the campaign management seminar, both county and state policy development processes and Farm Bureau’s work in building coalitions with outside organizations and businesses.

Prior to joining the staff, she was an active volunteer with Lucas County Farm Bureau, serving as county president and government affairs chairman. She also served on the state Policy Development Committee.

Swank grew up on a small farm in Preble County. She was active in 4-H, FFA and Farm Bureau Youth. She is a lifetime member of the Anthony Wayne FFA alumni association and a volunteer with Lucas County Junior Achievement and the Lucas County Junior Fair. She has a bachelor’s degree from University of Toledo and will complete a master’s degree in public administration in spring 2006 also from the university.

"I grew up in a neighborhood where many of the farmers were part of a Farm Bureau council and have known the important role Farm Bureau plays in Ohio since a young age. As an organization, we have proven time and time again that our collective voice for agriculture is much stronger than any one individual effort. I am proud to be a part of that voice. I enjoy working with our members and helping them understand what an important role they play in our legislative process at all levels of government," she said.
