Our Ohio: Telling Agriculture’s Story

Published on 10/10/2005

Our Ohio schedule
The Our Ohio television series debuted on some public television stations the weekend of Oct. 1. The program has been made available to all Ohio public television stations; each station has the option to pick up the program and insert it into its fall program schedule. Stations may continually adjust their program lineup, so keep checking local listings, or visit OurOhio.org, then our ohio tv, then where to watch for up-to-date program listings. At press time, the following stations had already scheduled the series in their viewing areas:

WPTD Dayton – Saturdays at 6 p.m.
WPTO Oxford – Fridays at 9 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m.
WEAO/WNEO Akron/Youngstown – Sundays at 6 p.m. (Beginning Oct. 16)
WGTE Toledo – Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. (Beginning Dec. 17)
WOSU Columbus – Sundays at 11 a.m.
WOUC Cambridge – Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. (Beginning Oct. 12)
WOUB Athens – Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (Beginning Oct. 12)
WPBO Portsmouth – Sundays at 11 a.m.
WVIZ Cleveland – Sundays at 3:30 p.m.

Promoting the brand
Our Ohio ads have been or will be appearing in several publications, including Ohio Magazine (which in October will feature a special eight-page section), Cleveland Magazine and City Scene. Our Ohio is also participating in the NBC Health and Fitness Expo (Oct. 22 and 23) and at Ohio Proud at Easton Town Center (Oct. 16), both in Columbus. Our Ohio billboards will be appearing statewide through October.

The eight-page section from Ohio Magazine will be available to order via county Farm Bureau offices.

Still going 'Hog Wild'
After a run at the Mahoning County Fair in Canfield, the next stop for the county Farm Bureau "Porks of Art" was the Cincinnati Horticultural Society's Flower and Farm Festival at Coney Island in Cincinnati Oct. 1 and 2 and Oct. 8 and 9. There’s still time to cast your vote for your favorite. Online voting is available via the OurOhio.org Web site through Oct. 17. Also, OFBF members at this year’s annual meeting will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the People’s Choice awards, and the pigs will be returned to county Farm Bureaus at that time.
