The OFBF Safety Make-Up Meeting for members of the OFBF Group Rating Program will be held Friday, Nov. 11 at the Marriott Northwest in Dublin. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The meeting, including lunch, is free, but you must register in advance. Call 614-246-8277 or e-mail to drubel@ofbf.org to register. The deadline is Nov. 4.

Each year members of the Group Rating Program are asked to attend one safety training session that keeps their status as a member in good standing.

Following are some of the speakers and topics that will be presented at the meeting:

• Meth, Anhydrous and the Farm Connection: Protecting You, Your Farm and Your Family – Crystal meth drug abuse is sweeping across Ohio. Farmers and local cooperatives are not isolated from the meth threat. One of the main ingredients in making meth is anhydrous ammonia. Find out how to protect you, your farm and your family from anhydrous theft and how to detect and deter addicts and pushers from setting up shop on your property.

• Minors as Employees: What you need to know – Issues with employing minors include legal, regulations and maturity/emotional/thinking skills that can be difficult for an employer to navigate. Learn timely tips and receive resources to help you work successfully with minors.

• Making Sense of Workers' Compensation Group Rating Programs – Your

Group Rating status can literally save you thousands of dollars. Join Kathy Redmond, Sandy Rodenkirchen and Laura Elliott from GatesMcDonald as they explain the basics of the Group Rating program and discount levels.
