Jeremy Goying, a senior at Ohio State University, harvests soybeans on his family's farm in Paulding County. "(The crop looks) decent for the weather we've had," he said. Goying was optimistic about the corn harvest later that month, despite spotty rain in the area.

As of press time, the National Agricultural Statistics Service estimated Ohio's average soybean yield was 44 bushels per acre, three bushels below last year's record. Ohio's average corn yield was forecast at 141 bushels per acre, 17 bushels below 2004.
