After a 20-year career with Nationwide Health Plans, Bob Vance returned to Farm Bureau as vice president, corporate affairs in May 2004. In his position he is responsible for oversight of Farm Bureaus fiscal and financial operations, facilities and assets, technology and human resource departments, OFB Foundation, OFB Development Corporation and compliance and risk issues. Vance was an organization director in Brown, Clermont, Montgomery and Warren counties in the 1970s and OFBF director of membership and then member services before moving to Nationwide. He also was a Nationwide agent. He was raised on a dairy farm in Ashtabula County and earned a bachelors degree in business from Capital University. He and his wife Rosemary reside in Fairfield County. They have two sons and two grandchildren. He is involved with United Way and VFW. He is a Vietnam War veteran.
