Volunteer
Kurt Steiner
Wayne County

Kurt Steiner and his wife Robin first became involved with Farm Bureau through the young farmers program. They attended young farmer conferences and Kurt chose to participate in the Discussion Meet, where he won the state contest and placed in the top four nationally. Since then he has served as county president, chairman of the county membership campaign and currently is government affairs chairman.

He has served two terms on the Wayne Economic Development Council and has coordinated a farm/city tour for the last five years. He is active with North Central schools where he has been co-chairman of school fundraising campaigns to build new athletic facilities. He also coaches girls’ basketball and boys’ wrestling.

He is a partner with his brother, uncle and father on a 300-cow dairy. They also raise hay, corn, soybeans and wheat. He is an Ohio State University graduate; he and Robin are parents of three children.

"When I moved back (home) 12 years ago, I wanted to be involved with something where I could use my people skills and a farm organization was a good place to use them," he said.
