Summer youth conference sign-up

Now’s the time to make summer plans. OFBF offers four conferences each summer for youths ages 11 through college. The conferences allow youths to make new friends from across Ohio while enjoying workshops, recreation, and building leadership skills.

Higher Ground – June 11 to 15 at Bluffton University. Learn about Farm Bureau, how the legislature works, running a successful business and how to make a good impression on members of the opposite sex. This conference is open to teens ages 14 and up.

Quest – June 27 to 29 at Otterbein College. Quest offers Junior High students workshop to help them deal with the ups and downs of life. Workshops include Making New Friends; Handling Your Emotions; Parents: A Jr. Highs’ Manual; Staying Friends; and Stand Up to Peer Pressure. This conference is open to youths ages 11 to 13.

Ignite – July 10 to 12 at Otterbein College. This conference gives practical skills to succeed as a teen and in life. Take a leadership role in Farm Bureau with the You, Me and OFB session. Other workshops include Why Boys Give Wedgies and Girls Give Advice; Siblings: What’s Up with That; Stress: The Fine Art of Not Freaking Out; Hanging with the Incredibles: the Real Superheroes; and Life Beyond Today. The conference is open to ages 12 to 14.

The Edge – July 23 to 28 at Otterbein College. Youths ages 15 and older who previously have attended Higher Ground are eligible to attend this conference. The Edge will equip youths with the skills to fine tune leadership, communication and teambuilding abilities.
