AgMazing Chase helps young farmers beat winter blues

Young farmers statewide escaped the winter blahs with friends, food and fun at Mahoning County's second annual AgMazing Chase.

The event was held Feb. 11 at the MillCreek MetroParks Educational Farm in Canfield. Teams competed in an indoor-outdoor agricultural-themed game with stunts and challenges similar to the popular TV series "Amazing Race," which had contestants racing against each other around the world.

At each station, teams won Farm Bureau Bucks (funny money) and at the end of the night used their "cash" to bid on more than 100 door prizes donated and discounted by local retailers and the Ohio Farm Bureau.

The event, conceptualized by Mahoning Farm Bureau young farmers Jen Weaver and Andrea Myers, also featured a catered meal and snacks.
