Jill Smith
Organization director, Athens, Gallia and Lawrence counties

Jill Smith began her Farm Bureau career in 1998. As organization director she serves as a liaison between the county Farm Bureaus and Ohio Farm Bureau. She assists counties with their programs, works with members to further their organizational goals and coordinates county involvement in state Farm Bureau programs and activities.

She grew up on a 500-acre cash grain, cattle and sheep farm in Logan County and is an Ohio State University graduate with a degree in agriculture. She is active with the Cattlemen’s Association, in 4-H club activities, was the Nationwide/Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center building fund chair in Athens County, and is a volunteer with FFA and the Soil and Water Conservation District. Smith also is a graduate of the Ohio State LEAD program. Prior to coming to Farm Bureau, she was in sales with Keller Grain and Feed. She resides in Athens County.

"Agriculture is the only place I’ve ever wanted to work because of the people we work with. They’re genuine and you always know what you’re doing means a lot to them," she said.
