Farm Bureau in 39th year of membership growthPublished on 06/12/2006Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) has set a new membership record at 225,380. The milestone marks the 39th consecutive year that OFBF has achieved membership growth. The organization also reported growth in farmer membership, acquiring more than 700 new active members. "Once again, our members and friends came through," said Mike Fearon, OFBF director of membership activities. "Through the hard work of thousands of volunteers and our dedicated staff, we’ve continued an important tradition." Sixty-three counties have attained overall growth thus far with 73 reaching farmer gain, according to Fearon. Numbers of both total membership and farmers should grow even further as the year’s membership campaign comes to a close. Fearon also recognized the contributions of Nationwide agents and staff. "Our two organizations have a closely shared heritage, and for Nationwide and its agents to be so enthusiastic about helping build Farm Bureau membership is very gratifying," Fearon added. | |
