Program area chairmen invited to trainingPublished on 07/03/2006New and returning county program area chairmen and coordinators will meet in Columbus in mid-August to develop their leadership skills and receive program-specific training. "Linking Up for Excellence" is the theme of this year’s Leadership Conference Aug. 22 and 23 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. New chairmen will have training to help them understand their role as chairmen and how to work within the county Farm Bureau structure. All chairmen will receive training manuals and other tools from Ohio Farm Bureau staff members to help them achieve their program goals for 2006-2007. Guest speaker Chad Hymas will conclude this year’s conference. He is a world-class wheelchair athlete enjoying basketball, wheelchair rugby, hang-gliding and snow skiing. In July 2003 he set a world record by wheeling a personal marathon of over 500 miles from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas. His presentation is titled, "Accept, Adapt and Act on Change." Chairmen will receive an invitation to the conference from organization directors. Notify your organization director if you would like to attend and if you have a roommate preference. Organization directors will provide a map, agenda and conference information to registered chairmen. | |
