A project three years in the making highlights agriculture

Three years ago Stark County Farm Bureau members thought of the idea to paint the side of a barn to highlight agriculture in Ohio.

Three years later, one farmer agreed to the project. Mark Frank of North Lawrence allowed Stark County Farm Bureau members to paint his barn, which sits close to a busy highway.

"The barn was painted for the specific purpose of promoting agriculture and the Farm Bureau," said Nick Kennedy, organization director for Stark, Summit, Portage and Columbiana Farm Bureaus.

Frank paid for half the cost, and Ohio Farm Bureau and Stark County Farm Bureau paid for the other half.

The barn painting features Frank’s two daughters.
