New law promotes ethanol use in Ohio

Published on 07/24/2006

Gov. Bob Taft signed into law House Bill 245 on July 6 at a Kroger store in Columbus. The new law, which goes into effect 90 days after it was signed, advances Ohio's leadership in the production and use of biofuels. It also doubles the use of E85 fuel in the state fleet. Kroger has agreed to install E85 pumps in Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati and Toledo. Ohio Farm Bureau worked for two years with corn and soybean leadership to get the legislation passed.
