OFBF’s Fisher new OSU trusteePublished on 08/14/2006![]() Ohio Farm Bureau Executive Vice President John C. (Jack) Fisher has been appointed by Gov. Bob Taft to the Ohio State University Board of Trustees. The governor cited Fisher’s "outstanding commitment and devotion to the university, the students it serves and the faculty it employs." Fisher told Buckeye Farm News that he supports OSU’s role as a land grant university and that "we need to always be aware that the number one client is the student, who deserves a quality education." Fisher also called OSU’s research and Extension programs "the mainstay of the past and future of Ohio agriculture." His appointment is through May 2013. Fisher said he expects to address the challenges of funding for agricultural research, keeping agriculture prominent in a changing Ohio economy. | |
