Farm Bureau molds future leaders

Published on 08/14/2006

Extended Caption: Teens from across the state chose to participate from among four different Farm Bureau Youth conferences this summer. Jr. High Quest was for youth ages 11 to 13; Ignite was for ages 12 to 14; Higher Ground was for youths 14 and up, and The Edge was for teens 15 and up. The events build pre-teens’ and teens’ leadership, personal development and interpersonal skills while informing them about Farm Bureau. According to OFBF Director of Youth and Safety Programs Darrell Rubel, Farm Bureau youth programs also are based on learning by teamwork, versus individual competition. The Farm Bureau Youth program will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year. Photo credit: Students from The Edge photography elective
