Volunteer
Dan Stevenson
Defiance County

Dan Stevenson credits the hard work of the Defiance County Farm Bureau board for the success the county has experienced while he has served as president. He joined the organization 12 years ago and has served on several county Farm Bureau committees in addition to serving on the county board.

He farms 450 acres of soybeans, corn, wheat and hay. In addition he is a full-time bus driver and handles outdoor maintenance for Fairview High School. He is a member of Ney area Jaycees, a credit union loan officer for St. Isidor Catholic Church and a member of Fairview Athletic Boosters.

He and his wife Patricia are parents of three grown children and have two grandsons.

He has attended the county Farm Bureau presidents’ trip to Washington D.C. and Ag Day at the Capitol. He also contacts local politicians on his own to talk about farm issues. "Our Farm Bureau’s voice in government for us as farmers is so important to me. I’ll always want to be a part of it, even if I won’t be president, to make sure our voice is heard. (There are) so few of us. I feel that that aspect is one of the most important (reasons to belong)," he said.
