The Mahoning County Farm Bureau Youth recently made a donation to the Vermilion Parish 4-H Katrina Fund at Louisiana State University Agricultural Center and the Heartland Christian School Katrina Mission Fund.

The funds donated were a result of a youth fund-raising project at the Ohio State Fair and donations from Mahoning County Farm Bureau Advisory Councils. The donation to Vermilion Parish has been designated to assist the agricultural community that suffered damages due to last year's hurricane.

The money will go towards fence repair and delivery of hay and feed supplies.

The donation to the Heartland Christian School was designated to help with the building of some homes through its personal mission project. A.J. Baltes, a Farm Bureau youth member, participated in that project.
