Enhancing the vision committee namedPublished on 10/23/2006County and state leaders to assess organization and operations by Joe Cornely Ohio Farm Bureau Federation President Bob Peterson has announced the appointment of a special committee that will spend the next year looking at, as Peterson describes it, "how to make the best better." As Peterson explained in the Sep. 25 Buckeye Farm News, the committee will study the relationships between state and county organizations, their governance, structure, programming, membership criteria and finances. "This is in response to a lot of county leaders' questions and thoughts as to ways we can interact better and be more efficient," Peterson said. "Successful farms and businesses don't stand still," he added. "Neither do successful organizations." OFBF First Vice President Jeff Zellers will chair the committee. Other state trustees serving on the panel are Kim Davis, Judy Loudenslager, Keith Truckor, Sparky Weilnau and Merlin Wentworth. Peterson and OFBF Treasurer Brent Porteus will be ex officio members. County Farm Bureau representatives on the committee are Jeanne Barbee, Franklin County; Richard Barrett, Hardin; Parmelia Boyer, Sandusky; Andy Caldwell, Highland; Dan Corcoran, Pike; Drew Eckert, Richland; Troy Ernest, Allen; Kevin Fall, Butler; Sherry Finney, Jefferson; Kurt Heyman, Erie; Glenn Lackey, Athens; Art Langerman, Morgan; Scott Metzger, Pickaway; Bill Moody, Knox; Paul Morrison, Darke; Roger Rhude, Warren; Bob Sage, Geauga; Matt Slicker, Wayne; Dusty Sonnenberg, Henry; Wanda Stratton, Belmont; Jenifer Weaver, Mahoning, and Matt Wilson, Logan. The committee’s findings will be presented in a report to the state trustees by Oct. 1, 2007. | |
