OFBF announces staff changesPublished on 10/23/2006![]() Two Ohio Farm Bureau members have changed positions within the organization, and an OFBF intern has been named promotion specialist, a new position. Doug Foxx has been named OFBF’s director of political education. He will work with Farm Bureau members to increase their political and organizational involvement through seminars, communications and grassroots program development, and coalition development. Foxx is a native of Wayne County and has raised veal calves and market hogs. He is a graduate of Wooster High School and Ohio State University where he majored in agricultural education with a minor in international studies. Foxx joined the OFBF staff in April 2003 as organization director for Allen, Auglaize, Mercer and Shelby counties. Jill Smith, organization director for Athens, Gallia and Lawrence counties, has been appointed to take over Foxx’s previous position. She has worked for Ohio Farm Bureau since 1998. Smith is a native of Quincy and has helped raise feeder cattle and purebred sheep. She is a graduate of Riverside High School and Ohio State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with a major in animal science. Cara Lawson, an Ohio Farm Bureau communications intern, has been named the organization’s promotion specialist. In the new position, Lawson will help coordinate events and activities that feature OFBF’s Our Ohio brand and other promotion and education efforts. Lawson is a native of Ripley, and her family has a 75-acre family farm that raises beef, hay, tobacco, horses and hogs. She graduated from Ohio State University this year with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. | |
