Renew early, enter to win a gift certificatePublished on 10/23/2006Current Farm Bureau members can expect to receive their first dues notice the week of Nov. 6. As a special renewal incentive, members who pay their Farm Bureau membership dues before Dec. 1 will be eligible to win a gift certificate of their choice. A total of five, $100 gift certificates and one, $500 grand prize certificate will be given away. Winners can pick from a gift certificate to Grainger Industrial Supply or a gas card. To be eligible, dues payment must be postmarked by Dec. 1 to be entered into this statewide drawing. Another incentive to renew early is the increased benefit in the accidental death or specific loss insurance policy from Nationwide. The policy payout is determined by when dues are paid and if the person was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. By renewing your membership before Dec. 31, members qualify for a maximum benefit of $10,000 should an accidental death or specific loss occur. Covered activities include using a farm tractor; farm truck with a noncommercial or farm license or other farm implements; equipment or tools in farming operations; using powered yard and garden equipment; a residential or farm swimming pool, pond, cistern, well or lagoon; traveling directly to or from or attending any Farm Bureau officially called and sponsored meeting; riding in, boarding or alighting from a private car or truck during the 30-day period immediately following a county membership kickoff for the purpose of soliciting Farm Bureau members, and working with domestic livestock in farming operations. The accidental death policy delivered last year is still current for this year and spells out the benefit provisions. Contact your county Farm Bureau office to claim this benefit or to obtain another copy of the policy. | |
