In trainingPublished on 10/23/2006![]() County office secretaries in the River Valley Region received specialized training during their 2006 Fall Secretaries Conference Oct. 10 near Wilmington. Ohio Farm Bureau staff members provided training in areas such as database access and usage, membership transfers, accounting and online ordering and inventory. Secretaries also received updates on Farm Bureau member benefits. The Pioneer and Buckeye Regions received training this month, too. OFBF Vice President of Corporate Affairs Bob Vance said the training conferences provide professional instruction and coaching, which help county offices remain efficient. Another benefit is the conferences provide a platform for feedback to Ohio Farm Bureau so both state and county offices can stay "in sync and integrate our activities so we can do them as best as we possibly can." Secretaries GeorgeAnn Mullins, Clark and Madison counties, pictured above left, and Kay Chandler, Champaign County, attended the conference. "These meetings are usually very informative and let you ask questions about some of the problems you may be experiencing in the office," Mullins said. She added that meeting the OFBF staff allows her to put a face with a name when she calls to the state office. "It is really important that we let them know the things that need attention or changing so that we secretaries can do our jobs with fewer headaches for everyone," she said. | |
