Our Ohio: Telling agriculture’s storyPublished on 03/22/2007 ‘ Growing a Masterpiece’ is backFor a third year, county Farm Bureaus will have the chance to showcase their members’ artistic talents at the Land and Living exhibit at the Ohio State Fair. This year’s "Growing a Masterpiece" project is a wooden barn silhouette designed by Shepherd’s Heart in Salem. Every county Farm Bureau should select one or more artists to paint and decorate the barn into an artistic representation of agriculture in each county. The only stipulation is the words Our Ohio or the Our Ohio logo should be featured on the front of the barn. The barns will be displayed for public voting during the state fair and other events and will be photographed and displayed at OurOhio.org for voting. The announcement of the top three People’s Choice awards will be announced at OFBF’s annual meeting, as determined by votes received from all events and votes via OurOhio.org. Last year, more than 50,000 total votes were received. Additional awards also will be given at the state fair for the top three barns as decided by the Ohio State Fair Queen’s Choice, Most Artistic and Ohio State Fair Manager’s Choice.
