Meet one of our Montgomery County Farm Bureau Trustees
Tom Hertlein is currently a trustee of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau board. He has been a member for nearly 40 years. Tom is a third generation farmer in Vandalia. He attended The Ohio State University and majored in agriculture.
Tom enjoys restoring old farm equipment and could make a living out of being a jokester. His Farm Bureau embarkment began because of his interest and love for agriculture. He decided to join Farm Bureau because he says that rural living is a great way to be raised, and being involved with the organization enhances that community aspect of life.
Tom’s favorite aspect of Farm Bureau is being able to be a person that is helping the lives of farmers around the county. He enjoys being a part of the public policy, the laws, and regulations portions of the organization. He likes bringing the issues to action because these issues are faced by farmers just like him. Tom is and always has been keen on lending a helping hand, not only to other farmers, but to the entire community.
The guide includes a farm driver checklist, overview of state and federal regulations and exemptions, CDL qualifications and more.
